Angie had been chiding me a few days ago for not updating. Then, today, she told me that if the only thing I have to blog about is grammar, she's just as happy if I skip a day. Harrumph.

THANK YOU for calling attention to such an egregious error in our society! That never fails to get my goat, either, and it's everywhere! I'm also bothered by the fact no one seems to realize that "towards," while admittedly a common (albeit incorrect) Britishism, is NOT A REAL WORD. It's "toward," people!Power, brother.
P.S. Just yesterday I wowed/geeked out my coworkers who dared challenge me on the differences between "misanthropic" and "misogynistic." ("No, JP, I really do think "misanthropic" means "hating women.") I finally had to pull out my root word sword and smack them upside the head with "android," "anthropomorphic," "anthropology," and "androgynous." Oh, it's so fun to be an English major in this world of ours! Paging William Safire....
